What is Ndaase?

Ndaase is the Fante word for “thanksgiving”. For the Akan people of Ghana of which the Fante are one tribal group, thanksgiving comes with milestones celebrated with family and friends. In honor of this tradition, at Ndaase we curate pieces that mark your celebrations while promoting the rich cultures of Africa.

Ndaase is an online fashion accessories emporium that offers an eclectic selection of beautifully crafted and wearable art that have their origins in Africa.

Who are we?

Ndaase is the creation of two Ghanaian sisters Agyapoma and Asabea, daughters of strong women who have found their entrepreneurial voice, have big dreams, and lots of determination to create a global brand. Ndaase started as Noobii Collection in 2012 when we launched our Karma jewelry line. The collection has since evolved into Ndaase which recognizes the demand for high quality accessories from Africa.

Karma Jewelry

The “Karma” jewelry line originates from the idea that you are what you wear. Jewelry pieces reflect global traditional symbols and writings that date back to the 19th century. The symbols are intended to remind its wearers to embody what they wear. Although the exact origins are not entirely known the symbols used in Ndaase Collection’s Karma line of jewelry are described by social anthropologists as aphorisms of the Akan peoples.

The symbols known as “adinkra” are traditionally found in Akan fabrics and tapestries. The adinkra reflect the hopes and aspirations of the Akans translated into symbols representing the collective lived wisdom and values of the Ancestors. The Adinkra symbols on traditional tapestry are made with carved calabash and natural dyes. The symbols are also used in gold jewelry and other ornaments.
